  29.  Indeed.What I find interesting is that VIScorp is said to give Escom
  30.  40M$ for the deal,a vast amount of money imho.Can this be justified
  31.  only by their need of AGA/AmigaOS?Is USA/Europe ready for a so giant
  32.  ITV mass explosion to justify this move?I dunno.

  34.  After all AGA is an outdated (while full NTSC/PAL compliant) A/V
  35.  system and so can be used only for basic ITV applications. AmigaOS
  36.  is actually tied to the 680x0 family which is now slow and expensive in
  37.  comparison with other CPU families.
  38.  An AGA/68020 solution would be out of market as soon as others enter
  39.  it (and we're talking about biggies here).

  41.  I can only hope VIScorp followed the above train of thoughts,and they
  42.  want the Amiga for the reason we all want to believe in: put the Amiga
  43.  where it deserves,as a valid opponent of Wintel monopoly.
  44.  However I'm afraid every USA corporation sees the IBM/PC-clone as the
  45.  ultimate personal platform...futile to step into a trickier and harder
  46.  path...just follow the mass and let Wintel design the future.
